About WROCKETTE

Wrockette:
n. A woman that ROCKS IT!

IT = play, work, LIFE.

THE HARD WROCK LIFE:
No one is a finished product. Life is a perpetual project. Being beautiful in the struggle is not enough. It takes AMBITION, INSPIRATION, PASSION, LOVE, and LUST.

The fuel for winners.

What we do...
Provide a daily dose of "WROCKETTE FUEL" through the use of imagery and quotes.

Beautiful people inspire. They make us stop and stare, our hearts race, our imaginations soar, and our memories rekindle. -- Jose Luis (photographer)

Bianca Smith answers my questions | Original post found HERE (lots of pix) I ASKED, AND SHE ANSWERED.

You’re a California native. Where exactly in California are you originally from?
I was born in Hermosa Beach, and I grew up in Hollywood.

What was particularly special about where you grew up, that only those who lived there would know?
The people in LA are much more down to earth than we’re given credit for.

If I just happened to make a trip to your hometown, is there something I absolutely must try? An activity or a food of some sort?
A picnic in Griffith Park. Sunset Junction in Silver Lake. Hermosa Beach on the fourth of July. A spontaneous Jam Session in someone’s living room. Hiking through Malibu Creek. Visit a real Hollywood dive bar - like Powerhouse, or The Frolic Room.

We know that you’re Swedish and Filipino descent, do you identify with either heritage? Been to both countries?
I’ve been to many countries, but I haven’t been to the Philippines or Sweden yet!

How did you take the plunge into the modeling? Was it on your own accord? Were you discovered?
Someone needed a model for a shoot one day, and called me. I was acting before I was modeling. Then soon enough another modeling gig came up, and before I knew it I was modeling more often than anything else.

A modeling concept you’d like to explore. If you can be descriptive that’d be great. (photographers love to know)
I would love to shoot a period piece! Anything from Baroque to Edwardian..

Give me a photographer you absolutely enjoyed working with. Why?
Cherie Roberts. She’s shot all of my best photos. She’s just really talented. Google her!

Has modeling taken you to places you’d otherwise would have never seen or gotten the chance to experience?
Modeling has taken me many places, as far as working abroad… But I think I would have had a chance to visit those places regardless.

What type of a girl were you in high school?
I hung out with lots of different groups at once. … but overall, I couldn’t wait to get out!

You attended the Art Institute. What did you study?
Interior Design

Give me an attainable goal you’ve set for yourself this year.
I want to expand my film portfolio.

Do you remember what you wanted to become when you were growing up as a kid?
An Astronaut.

You’re into conspiracies, can you elaborate? What’s one that you’re absolutely sold on right now?
I’m not into any right now, although I still don’t believe much of the news we get from the media is truthful.

Metaphysics and quantum physics… I feel like I’m talking to my brother. What is it that has piqued your interest about these subjects?
I started researching Metaphysics when I was in my teens, because I was trying to understand my dreams. I’ve always known there was more going on behind the face of what we call reality. Quantum Physics interests me because it’s a scientific study that actually coincides with many spiritual beliefs, which I think is the natural understanding we are evolving towards; a balance between spirit and matter.

How do you classify the art that you produce? Where do you draw inspiration from?
My inspiration mostly comes from the mood I’m in at the time. If I’m feeling like I want to do something tedious and repetitive, I might work on a Mandala, or a perspective drawing. If I’m feeling expressive, I’ll just start by splattering some paint and see what shape it takes, and go from there. If I feel like I want to practice, I might do something observational. It’s always different.

Free time. What do you do with it? What are some of your favorite hobbies?
Lately I’ve been playing chess, gardening, and doing art stuff.

Name your favorite restaurant and what your favorite dish is.
Nobu - Red Snapper Sashimi with dried miso. Yummy!!

Do you watch any sports? If so, what team or players do you root for?
Go Lakers!!

What was the last thing that inspired you? (do you have a link?)
This “Vortex House” is pretty cool: Click Here

Name a person that inspires you.
My Mom.

What or who is your best motivator?
Time! Especially when it’s running out!

What is something you’re absolutely passionate about?
Nature of reality stuff, aliens, the future, and space.

Who influences your style in particular? Is there anybody you’ve particularly idolized?
Stevie Nicks, Jimi Hendrix, Pochahantis, catwoman, things I find in my closet.

List two websites you absolutely must check each day (excluding your email and social networks).
I really like Current.com, and Craigslist.

Genres of music you listen to. Gimme a song you can’t stop wrockin’ to right now.
I listen to classic rock, indie folk, jazz, and merely everything else that doesn’t suck. Here are a few songs I book marked on Pandora: “The Crane 1 and 2” by The Decemberists, “Sunday” by Sia, “All Day Breakfast” by Jel, and “Depression - Passillo” by Andrew Bird.

 What’s your take on pornography?
I don’t see anything wrong with it.

How do you like your men dressed? (Suits and ties? Rugged? Street/urban?)
It depends on the guy, and the setting the guy is in. I like whatever makes him look like a man, as opposed to a boy.

What qualities do you find attractive in men, even though you should NOT?
That he finds all women attractive. If a girl walks by and he just has to look - it’s okay with me. It lets me know that he just loves women.

Bianca Smith | Los Angeles, California The ARTIST, DIRECTOR, and MODEL is hands down one of my favorite Wrockettes of all time. She is classy, whole-hearted, driven, and just plain gorgeous. She’s a blend of Filipino and Swedish descent. She’s got the attention span to listen to your “high-geekness”, too. She’s into conspiracies, metaphysics, quantum theory, and much more. As an artist she draws and paints. Links: Myspaca  Bianca’s Blogspot | Art by Bianca Photo Credits: Edward Duarte (1, 3, 7), Ryan Smith (6), Quoz Studios (8), Viva Vision (10), Cherie Roberts (11)
