Starting the week of with Miss HIN 2009. HIN = Hot Import Nights; where many models launch their modeling careers. I’ve come across many models in a short amount of time. It doesn’t matter how big, how small, or necessarily how good you look. The reality of it all is that becoming a star through the modeling industry is very slim. Sure, there are perks, but celebrity status is practicaly unheard of nowadays. I don’t know a single winner from America’s Next Top Model. It’s what a model does with her connections to make a living for herself. When people come across a model they absolutely go nuts over, print media often omits the name.

But here is Alanna, she is tall, slender, and beautiful. Many people associate HIN to be an Asian-American industry. It’s come a long way from it’s up-and-comer days. Unfortunately, there isn’t much about Allana on the web. She’s 21 and stands 5’7”. We’re looking for a character behind the face.

• What’s your ethnic make-up?
• I’m German, Native American, Irish
• What is/are your current favorite song(s) at the moment?
• I love to listen to Indie music like ghostland observatory, MGMT and also like swayze and LMAO. There music is so sick! [I just discovered MGMT. Awesome sound.]
• How were you discovered, or how did you break into the modeling industry?
• I started modeling 4 1/2 yrs ago. My first event was a surf and swim fashion show. I modeled Hurley swimwear and Roxy clothes. I have worked for Yacht companies,miami fashion shows and all types of print editorial work. I am currently Miss HIN 2009 and also Miss ESM/Eastern Surf Magazine 2009. I am featured on the cover of Image magazine 09 and can’t wait for my new magazine covers to be released this year!
• With all the traveling that you do for modeling, how do you find time for school?
• It was hard to find time for school. I model full time now and I’m glad I already have school out of the way. I’m always on the go traveling to new places for shoots and work.
• What did you want to be as a kid growing up? Was it being a model?
• I was in 4th grade and we had to tell the class what we wanted to be when we grow up. Most kids said nurse and teacher. When I got up there I said I want to me a model when I grow up. All the kids went quite and I was so imbarresed. Now I look back and think it’s funny that I’ve always wanted to be a model. [sorry, I’ve gotta admit, I would’ve laughed too. But, it’s good to know that your dream is a reality.]
• So, you’ve been declared Miss HIN, are you actually into the import scene?
• Yes, I ‘ve always been into cars and races! I’m excited that now I actually get to travel and host the events. They are so much fun and I love seeing the new tricked out rides!
• What do you currently drive, and what do you eventually hope to own/drive?
• I live in beautiful Florida! It is nice to come home from traveling to a sunny vacation spot. I hope to own a Bugatti Veyron! One day..one day :) Right now I will just have to deal with my VW. [haha that’s not even an import. A Veyron? It doesn’t even look cool for its insane price tag. How about something like a Ferarri F430?]
• Do you party? If so, what’s your spot (club/venue name) of choice?
• What day of the week? Why? I do like to go out with my friends when I’m back home. I like to go out to chill local spots. When I’m traveling I do more of the night scene with the other models. I’m mainly a beach girl. I would rather lay around and go to the beach or go out on my friends boats.
• What qualities do you find attractive in men, even though you should NOT?
• I like guys that have an attitude or a little cockyness. I want my man to know that he’s got it but has to be a sweetheart to me.
• Every girl has a dream man, but in your past what have you been known to gravitate toward?
• I normally go for dark hair and scruffy beards. I like that “just woke up” look and jeans and a white T… I gravitate to guys that are outgoing and are active. I have to have a guy that can keep up with me! [how’d u guess my favorite outfit?]
