- A little Q & A with Bobby
- Is this your primary job?
- I’m the San Diego Regional Director of Eventvibe.com running various productions of events from Local Nightclubs to nationwide working with big international super star djs such as Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, David Guetta, Benny Benassi and the list goes on and on.
- What do you enjoy doing outside of photographing beautiful women?
- Playing with my little shih-tzu named “zer0”, riding my sector 9 board on the beach boardwalk…oh and I can kick your butt on any game on XBox Live…I can tear it up the drums on Rockband!!!
- How did you get your start?
- I started as a local intern event coverage photographer for Eventvibe.com in Pacific Beach, from there I went on the Gaslamp Nightclub/Fashion Scene which eventually led me to my new found passion for Wedding Photography.
- What is your most prized piece of equipment for photography?
- PLENTY OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES…always be prepared to shoot long hours, and it’s environmentally friendly.
- What is most painstaking about your job?
- Narrowing down 1000s of photos…to get that one key shot that says it all…I lose sleep over it sometimes
- What is the most daring or experimental shoot that you’ve ever done that turned out great in your eyes?
- Shooting a model on a sailboat while at sea…the wind in her hair, the waves that splashed behind her…the photos ended up ROCKIN’ as much as the boat!
- Who is the one model you enjoy working with most, and why?
- Melyssa Grace…at first I was nervous, cuz she was the first model that I have ever shot who was a covergirl for a notable magazine (Maxim Phillippines), we had the same background & roots and so we had a lot to represent for both of us being Filipino American. We ended up sharing so many laughs during the shoot and not only did we create some of the best photos for our portfolios, we made a great connection and I consider her one of my dearest & closest friend.
- For most people, being a photographer affords you the opportunity to be very close to models, any encounters/experiences you mind sharing with us that would never have happened if not for this type of networking?
- I met the girl of my dreams, she was a make-up artist on one of my all time favorite shoots, she was oiling up my model and it was love at first site…true story I got video to prove it :)
- Does this line of work afford you the glamourous lifestyle you often portray?
- HELL YA!!! It’s like a vacation every week for me, in a short time span this year, I’ve been/going to Miami, Las Vegas, Hollywood, Phoenix, Boston, San Francisco…not only is my flights & accomidations taken cared of…I get paid good money to take KILLER SHOTS!!!
- Whose work do you enjoy outside of your own?
- There so many awesome photographers out there…PradoFoto, Justin Price, Robert Alvarado, Onyx Photography, Michael Vincent…those guys are always taking Glamour Photography to the next level
- Why should models choose you for a shoot?
- I’m very much involved in the Electronic Dance Music scene, from Photography to Marketing to Fashion, and the music fuels my energy which pushes me to capture the scene in it’s raw form. And the best perks for a model is, when were done with our shoot, I have the connections for the best parties in the scene to relax and have a cocktail :)
