Cristina Warthen aka the STANFORD ESCORT answers our questions | Original post found HERE (lots of pix)
I read a book titled “The Price” written by New York’s #1, if not the nation’s #1 escort, a little over a year ago. It wasn’t the greatest read in the world, but it took me into what one man was able to achieve with women using the lure of copious amounts of money one could only dream of in the corporate world. Natalie McLennan went by the alias Natalia. She was demanded by New York’s power players, rock stars, and NFL quarterbacks. She earned the reputation of being the highest paid escort in New York, at a rate of over $2,000 an hour. Her story takes you to one of the greatest downfalls of a public figure in recent memory, Eliot Spitzer — the Governor of New York that vehemently declared a war on prostitution; only to find himself buried in the center of a one of the largest prostitution rings ever uncovered.
It was by accident that I came across Cristina Warthen. Cristina, a UCLA alumni and Stanford Law graduate turned escort. She has one of the most fascinating stories, I’ve ever heard or had the opportunity to come across. She barely made it into this world, born 3 months premature. She was able to walk at the age of 1 and speak like an adult at the age of 4. She travelled across the country alone with her sister before the age of 10. She discovered her sexuality at the age of 7 and was mature beyond anyone her age. After graduating law school, she did not want to practice. She came to be known as the Stanford Escort. She found herself naked in the bathroom, while showering, when the IRS kicked down her door and arrested her for tax evasion. Subsequently, she went to trial and was ordered to repay hundreds of thousands while under house arrest.
She gave me the opportunity to interview her…
- I ASKED, AND SHE ANSWERED.
- You’ve pretty much been a California girl all your life. Did you originally grow up in San Diego?
- YES
- You’re currently residing in Seattle, Washington? What prompted the move?
- MY Divorce and drama with the IRS. When you are dealing with the gov., no one tells you what may or will happen, you just sit around and wait for the date they schedule for your hearing and then you show up and wait for someone (judge or magistrate), to announce your fate. I didnt have a clue what lay in store for me and i have a lot of pets that I didnt want to leave in the lurch.
- I’m surprised you never became a writer. You traveled most of the world before you were 10. Did you continue to consume material from books at this rapid rate, regardless of whether or not it was for leisure?
- Yes, I am a true bibiliophile and media junky.
- Based on your story, you discovered your own sexuality at a very very young age. When did you actually become sexually active?
- Very old age because I wasnt too hot until I was about 23.
- You describe yourself as somewhat of a nerd, when you were young, but what type of girl were you really in high school?
- A real nerd with a chip on her shoulder.
- What did you dream of growing up to be when you were a kid? No kid says lawyer! You’d have a hard time convincing me of that, but I don’t think you’d need to.
- I wanted to be a “dancing scientist”, whatever that means. That is also the name of a chapter in my book.
- You attended UCLA for your undergrad. My brother was also a Bruin. What did you study originally? Got any Bruin pride left in ya? Sorry, but I’m a Cal Bear and you guys stole our colors. Take a jab!
- I studied atmospheric science and i was the tutor for UCLA Athletics. I love all schools. Tony Gonzalez was a Bear, and so was Duane Clemmons…Cant be mad at that.
- Based on your ability to absorb things so quickly, it’s not remotely crazy why you ended up at Stanford Law. You probably could’ve even gone to Harvard, but what type of law were you planning to practice originally?
- None,I originally applied to law school because I had planned to takeover my ex’s mom’s retail empire. I didnt have the two years+ managerial experience to go to B-School and I was filled with the immaturity of youth and thought I could cross- enroll.
- How did the opportunity to make ends meet as an escort originally present itself?
- Escort business was literally another type of dating service. Back then “sugardaddy.com and seekingarrangement.com and even really interesting mainstream people on match.com ” just didnt exist. I had to choose between the singles ads in the back of the Sunday paper and my neighbor’s new escort listing site, and i chose the latter, solely due to the more efficient demographics. I always used the “escort boards” as a dating site…..i was ahead of the tail and bored . At first , I was kind of pessimistic about meeting Mr. Right through the escort listing sites. But it wasnt 2010, it was 2002 and with the Internet in such a nascent stage you didnt have ever crazy wierdo on the Planet on it. There was no Craigslist.org and no niche-y dating sites, I was amazed to find that the billionaire entrepeneurs who built the internet were easily accessible on the Internet through these listing sites.
- According to multiple sources you finished law school and did not want to practice. What was the reasoning behind this?
- I never wanted to practice law. My love and passion has always centered on people-hospitality and retail and similar.
- Did escorting allow you to become the woman that could command someone with a single glance, bringing them to their knees…?
- Sure did. Escort boards are magical-they reverse the supply /demand curve. You dont have to sit in a bar waiting for Mr. Right, thousands of Mr. Right’s come to u begging for your time and displaying all their physical, financial and emotional stats. As a Stanford Law Grad I couldnt (and still cant), understand the reasoning behind why it is legal to give your body away for appetizers but not for true financial committment. I could legally understand it. but never rationally understand it.
- You were busted for tax evasion and was under house arrest. How has this experience changed your life and your lifestyle?
- God kicked me in the butt. This took my maturity to a much higher level and my arrogance to a much lower level. I truly believe I was so lost for the first 25-30 years of life, God had to hit me with something extreme to bring me back to Earth. At this point, I know for certain that I truly “get life”. I am no less happy living with my mom and riding in my Range , than i was in the private jets.
- I’m assuming you immediately knew you were in deep doo-doo when the IRS came knocking, despite knowing all your rights. Did you represent yourself in trial?
- I never went to trial. The idea of trial in a “special court” is farsical at best. There is no Constitution, the adjudicator is fellow employee of investigator/prosecutor. It was essentially a notch away from textbook “duress”. I have lost all faith in due process and American Justice as it applies to “special courts” like the FCC and the IRS. I never “worked my way through law school as an escort”. I went up on the boards only AFTER law school as an amazingly efficient kind of dating service where i found the true .One person, and one person alone paid off my law school loans. After waiting around 6 year’s for the government threats to become reality , I took my lawyer’s advice and pled rather than continue with the saga/ Homeric Odyssey.
- I’ve read your words of wisdom and understand that you’ve learned a lot from this experience, but how are you going to go about paying back that large sum you owe the government in such a bleak economy?
- I Paid them back in September.
- Free time. What do you do with it? What’re some of your favorite hobbies?
- Because I cant leave my house, I have adapted. Luckily, I have a pretty great setup with an indoor gym, lots of media outlets and good friends who dont mind visiting me in my home.
- Do you watch any sports?
- No, unless a friend is playing.
- Favorite dish at your favorite restaurant?
- “Crispy Duck” at Mr. Chow’s Manhattan or the veal pasta at Ago, Los Angeles.
- Who and what inspires you?
- God works through my mom,my sister and a handful of amazing friends.
- Who or what are you a huge fan of?
- Almost everything, especially witty/funny people who’s brains go really fast.
- Genres of music you listen to and gimme a song you can’t stop wrockin’ to right now.
- “On To The Next One” or the lyrics from new T.I because I can really identify with Tip’s latest music like “Live Your Life”.
- What’s your take on porn?
- I could live without it and make my own private version at home. I have neither a moral issue nor much enthusiasm for it. Although I have to admit I do think some of the stars are smokin’ hot.
- What brings that wild-side out of you?
- Mental connection with someone I love.
- How do you like your men dressed?
- Its not the clothes, it is what is inside the clothes, although Dwayne Wayde always looks fly as does Nelly.
- What qualities do you find attractive in men, even though you should NOT?
- Luckily, Ihave finally gotten over that powerful men/D-boy/darkside attraction. i think my new outlook is much more healthy. I have seen the ghetto, confronted the government, finished 7 years of some pretty difficult post-graduate education, survived a bullet, and I am all about connection to a sexy man who looks hot and has some hyper-quick firing synapses.
- Every girl has a dream man, but in your past what have you been known to gravitate toward and/or have dated?
- Brilliance and speed-both on the field and in the boardroom.
- Leather or lace?
- Both.
- In command, or being commanded?
- Both. I stand for the real and no one is one-sided , especially me, the quintessential gemini.
